A humble thank you

Something weird was going on...I had been getting a lot of emails about the podcast. Even some business-related ones. And I had no clue as to why. Then I looked at the iTunes Music Store this evening. I knew that the Wine for Newbies podcast was at the top of the popularity chart for food and wine podcasts, which I took as a pleasantly surprising aberration. I figured it would drop back down. But it hasn't. The show remains popular. And then I looked at the top 100 podcasts. Holy cow, Wine for Newbies ranks 54th today. I am stunned and also humbled. Thank you to all of the listeners who also read this blog, and I'll have to remember to thank everyone in the next podcast episode. And, speaking of the next podcast episode, I should probably start working on it. Thank you again for all of your kind comments and your support for the show. I hope it will continue to meet your expectations.

Congrats Bill, a lot of wine podcasts are being featured at the moment at the bottom of the iTunes podcast main page. You're on the first view and there's 3 more views you scroll left and right to. Oz Wine Show is in there somewhere and we got a few more subscribers but alas my site's been down for 2 days now - i tried to upgrade wordpress and it went bad. Should be back up soon.

Anyway i can see why Wine for Newbies is so popular - very informative and to the point.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this great podcast.
I even marked it as do not delete in itunes, that says alot.
I don't know if you do but you should write down some cheatsheets for every ep with the most rememberable things so that I can print it and stick it in a file. Thanks again, great work!

Bill, love the podcasts! Thanks so much for making them available. I'm a wine enthusiast that has broken out of a predicatable shell in 2005, and your podcasts have been very informative and entertaining. I started a wine blog of my own to share new wines I try, as well as review wine stores and restaurants that I frequent around the state of Louisiana. I linked to you on my blog and have a recent entry introducing your podcasts. Hope you might visit the site. http://cajuncork.blogspot.com. Looking forward to the homework.

A quick note to everyone:

First, thanks for all of your kind words. I'm glad you're enjoying the podcast.

As for a cheat sheet, I think a better idea is for listeners to write down their own notes--what I think might be important to jot down may not be important to another person.

I feel any educational resource, whether it be a book, magazine article, or podcast, is meant to be chewed on and digested. I could spoon feed you, but I think you'd get more out of it by doing your own cheat sheets.
