A stunning logo

Barbara Carlton of Carlton Design in Studio City, California, has designed a beautiful logo for the podcast and this site. I'm pleased to share it with you. I like it so much that I'm thinking of opening up a CafePress.com store with the logo. I don't expect anyone to buy anything. I just want to be able to buy my own sweatshirt with the logo on it. :-) Barbara, thank you for your beautiful work and your generosity. If I ever have the need for some graphic design work, or know of anyone who does, you're getting the call.

Nice logo!

I know a bit about wine - especially South American. However, I'm still finding your show informative and interesting. I've now listened to all the episodes. I think time-wise they're just about right.

It would be nice to see you continue to focus on the big-six varietals. Perhaps you could now focus on wines from specific regions for each grape varietal. For example, you could have a four-part series on Cabernet Sauvignon - starting out with France, then California, then South America, and finally other new-world. It seems you could do similar series of shows for each of the varietals.

Perhaps you could also start recommending specific bottles of wine - with the caveat that you could always go with something else if you can't find what you suggest. Like you say in your show, a good wine shop should be able to come up with excellent recommendations.

Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.

Brian, thanks for your kind words and for listening to the show. I think your idea of doing some extended coverage of the big six varietals makes sense, so let me see what I can come up with.

I'll have to think about making specific recommendations. For one, since I hope these shows are "timeless" I am hesitant to recommend something that may not be available next year or later on.

But these comments could be the perfect place for everyone to discuss their latest discoveries--after all, part of learning about wine is working from recommendations made by others.

Hmmm.......maybe I can set up some kind of forum area, like a Yahoo! group or a Google group, where people could post messages, ideas, etc.

Hi,
I was not sure where to leave this comment. first of all i love your show.. the first time i heard it was when you were doing your 12th episode, but then i ended up downlaoding everythign before that and listening them back to back. I ahve a silly question though. How do u close a bottle of wine after you open it. Lets say i drink half the bottle, is there any way to recork it.. i tried doing it and its usually miserable and i end up cutting half the sides of that wooden piece and stuff it up and the next time i open the bottle it tastes odd. thanks.. madhu
